Aims

Our aim is to encourage players of all ages and abilities to join us so that we can develop the club both in terms of competitive cricket and on a more relaxed social basis. Click here for Player's Hand book.

We currently play in the National League Division 2 South, having been promoted last year. We also play friendly matches with local teams such as Frensham - the emphasis here being very much on the taking part and of course the teas! No previous experience is required and winter training is at Surrey Cricket Centre in Burpham before outdoor training after Easter on a weekday evening at the ground on Woodbridge Road in Guildford. New players are welcome to join us at any point of the season.

Club Mission Statement

Guildford Cricket Club’s objective is to promote, organise and encourage amateur cricket of the highest standard in the Guildford area.  The Club exists to foster community participation and membership is open to all.  The development of young cricketers and elite players is central to what the Club is about.

Goals for the 2010 Season

The Cricket Committee has set the following goals for the coming season:

1. Our Ladies XI to secure promotion from National Division Two.

2. Our Girls U-13 and U-15 teams to reach the Lady Taverners’ Regional Final stages.

3. Our 1^st XI to challenge for the Surrey Championship Premier Division title. 

4. Our 2^nd XI to secure promotion from the Surrey Championship Division One.

5. Our 3^rd XI to make an impact in the Surrey Championship 3^rd XI Premier League.

6. Our 4^th XI to challenge for promotion from the Surrey Championship 4^th XI West Division, which we enter for the first time in 2010.

7. Our Academy U-21 XI to qualify for the Zonal Play-off in the Surrey Trust League.

8. Our Development U-18 XI to qualify for the Zonal Play-off in the STL Dev. League, which we will enter for the first time in 2010.

9. Our junior XI’s to win at least two age groups in the Berkeley Sports Two Counties Youth Cricket League.

10. At least six players to be selected for Surrey representative teams at the various age groups.

Finally, we also hope to provide our members with a sporting outlet that includes both on and off the field activities.

Membership is for a year with effect from January 1st each year irrespective of joining date during the year.
