Indoor winter training will take place at the RGS Sports Hall. On this map, the building is the green-roofed structure to the left of the all weather training pitch, directly north of the marked red A.
Junior Cricket - click here for more details. Youth Cricket is an essential part of a healthy cricket club. Guildford has a tradition of producing and developing young cricketers - four club members (Martin and Darren Bicknell, Rikki Clarke and Ashley Giles - all products of the Guildford CC Colts) currently play County Cricket and all have represented England at some level.
Parents of Juniors should make a note of your son/daughter’s age group Team Manager. Make sure that the Manager has your contact details (phone and email) for team selection purposes.
Guildford Under 15's have aready got off to a winning start and Christmas had not even arrived when they took part in the George Abbott Surrey Cricket Centre indoor 6 a side tournament. A great competetion played at a fast and furious pace and lasting only 12 overs per side with scores of 150+ achievable and wides costing up to 8 runs if the keeper misses the ball, it hits the wall and the batsmen run and there are overthrows !!. Confused ? The scorers defiatly need to be on their toes. Up against 7 other teams including Sunbury, Blackheath, Guildford city & Surrey Under 17 Girls, they lost only one game against Blackheath. Although finishing on the same points as Sunbury,Guildford beat Sunbury in their match so therefore topping the league. Only 8 players were used of which only 3 were actually under 15's, the rest being under 14's. Skippered by Alex Green the team consisted of Andrew Farley (wk), James Mawhood, Mathew Nolan, Will Jay, Harvey Jackson, Mathew Nash & Sam Puttock, Notable performances included, a game in which we scored 175 ! Harvey Jackson bowled 3 overs for 3 runs in a 3 over spell ( and that was due to a wide that cost 3 runs). Mathew Nolan, Will Yay and James Mawhood all retired after scoring 25 runs on more then one occaision.
